Rebrand, Transition, and Growth
-
For more than 20 years, the Chicago Citywide Literacy Coalition served as a network of adult literacy providers working together to share resources, strengthen coordination, and raise awareness around adult education across Chicago. As the organization’s role expanded, its leadership recognized that the existing brand no longer reflected the full scope of its work or its future direction.
causeFX initially partnered with the organization during this moment of transition, supporting the rebrand from CCLC to scaleLIT. The rebrand translated decades of coalition-based work into a clearer identity and narrative system designed to support evolving programs, partnerships, and services.
Following the rebrand, the partnership deepened. As scaleLIT continued to deliver programs, convene partners, and expand access to literacy and workforce pathways, communications needed to function as infrastructure rather than one-off projects. causeFX began working alongside leadership and program teams to support how services were communicated over time.
What began as a rebrand evolved into a long-term program communications partnership grounded in real service delivery and designed to grow alongside the organization.

causeFX works as a program communications partner, not as an external campaign vendor.
With scaleLIT, this meant embedding communications support directly into how the organization operates. Communications priorities surfaced through program cycles, seasonal initiatives, and active service delivery rather than abstract planning exercises.
The partnership focused on:
Grounding communications in real programs and services
Supporting clarity and consistency without slowing delivery
Building systems through execution rather than over-engineering
Strengthening internal capacity over time
This approach allowed communications to remain responsive while supporting long-term sustainability.

Each of the following outcomes represent a focused case study within the broader scaleLIT partnership:
Rebrand as Infrastructure for Program Growth
How the transition from CCLC to scaleLIT created a durable foundation for future communications.Program and Event Communications at Scale
How communications supported ongoing programs and initiatives without disrupting service delivery.Digital Platforms That Support Access to Services
How digital tools and platforms were shaped to reduce friction and improve access for learners and jobseekers.Communications Systems Built Through Execution
How templates, workflows, and planning rhythms were developed through real work rather than abstract systems.Transition and Internal Ownership Over Time
How communications capacity and confidence were built gradually without dependency or disruption.
Each case can be explored individually while remaining connected to the overall partnership narrative.
Programs are where impact happens. Communications is how that impact travels.
By grounding communications in real services and working in partnership over time, scaleLIT strengthened how its work is understood, accessed, and supported. Communications became a durable capability that could adapt as programs evolved.
This partnership demonstrates how program communications can support growth, clarity, and sustainability without overburdening teams or interrupting delivery.
