Growth and Leadership Change
-
Centers for New Horizons is a community-based organization serving children, families, and providers across the South Side of Chicago. For decades, Centers has delivered essential services spanning early childhood education, youth development, workforce initiatives, provider training, and family support, with deep roots in Bronzeville and surrounding neighborhoods.
causeFX began working with Centers more than six years ago, during a pivotal moment in the organization’s history. As Centers approached its 50-year milestone, leadership recognized the need to strengthen how the organization communicated its work in a changing digital landscape.
At the time, Centers did not have a consistent digital presence or a centralized platform for communicating programs, services, and impact. causeFX was brought in to support the organization through this milestone by helping digitize communications in a way that honored its history while preparing it for the future.
What followed was not a single project, but a long-term partnership that carried Centers through organizational transformation, leadership transition, and sustained program growth.

causeFX’s relationship with Centers spans two executive eras and multiple phases of organizational maturity.
causeFX supported the organization through its 50-year milestone, helping establish a functional digital foundation and a more cohesive communications presence. Shortly after that milestone, Centers underwent a leadership transition.
causeFX worked closely with the outgoing Executive Director and Board of Directors to support internal and external communications during this transition. This included communicating change with clarity and care to staff, funders, partners, and the broader community, while maintaining trust and continuity.
Following the transition, causeFX built a new working relationship with the current Executive Director. Under new leadership, the partnership deepened, supporting ongoing program communications, provider services, fundraising moments, and day-to-day operational execution as Centers continued to evolve.
Throughout, causeFX’s role was not tied to any one leader, campaign, or initiative. It was rooted in supporting the organization itself.

For community-based organizations, trust is built through consistency.
Leadership changes, programs evolve, and priorities shift, but the work must continue uninterrupted.
This partnership demonstrates how communications can function as organizational continuity when execution support is embedded, responsive, and grounded in real operations.
For Centers, this meant navigating growth and leadership change without losing clarity, credibility, or connection to the community it serves.
